My Teaching Philosophy
My goal in teaching economics is to make clear to students that they should never view economics as a hard and settled science; instead, my mission is to ensure they come away knowing that economics should be seen as a framework through which they can answer complex questions in whatever field they choose their pursuits. Crucially, I believe that teaching should be as much of a learning experience for me as it is for students who step foot in my classroom.

“I like how Henry had examples during discussion sections that related to the topic taught during the lecture. It allowed me to think and use material from 122A and current material. He made examples very clear and if I didn't understand a specific step or idea, he would explain it very clearly.”
“Went over example questions and answers that were very relevant and helped me understand the course material better. Henry was also very responsive to my questions and emails outside of discussion section which I very much appreciated!”
“I've [had] Henry in Econ 15B and I was pleased with attending his discussions in Econ 122B. He makes the materials more understandable and clear, that I was able to understand the material very clearly in the course”
“Henry was very clear in explaining topics and he is very knowledgeable. I really liked that he gave hints for the STATA labs because they can be intimidating to start. He was very willing to answer our questions and created an open learning environment.”
“I think Henry was my favorite TA, and really source of life in terms of the class, because he tried to make the class material as understandable as possible. The class had new material each week, which was overwhelming & Henry always laid out detailed lecture videos.”
“Good at explaining the coding and the specific commands in [S]tata. Was patient with students and kindly elaborated when requested.”
“Clear, easy to understand, straight to the point, teaches from a student's perspective”
